Ana Tisewere project held football coaching and refereeing training in Blantyre

SAPOF’s Ana Tisewere project recently held a five-day coaching and football refereeing training at Mpapa Primary School in Soche, Blantyre. The training, facilitated by experts from the Football Association of Malawi (FAM), brought together pupils and community members, providing them with valuable skills and knowledge.

Desmond Sili, a 13-year-old participant, expressed his excitement about the training, saying, “I am so happy with what SAPOF has done for allowing me to participate in the training. These five days training has sent a tone to my dream towards becoming a professional referee.”

FIFA/CAF Referees Instructor Michael Makoto praised SAPOF for organizing the training, highlighting the crucial role referees play in football outcomes.

Speaking after the training, renown football coach Chancy Nsema echoed Makoto’s sentiments, emphasizing the importance of knowledgeable coaches in football development.

The Ana Tisewere project, implemented in two schools in Ntcheu and Blantyre, uses sports to promote education and mental health. The training is expected to have a positive impact on the participants, inspiring them to pursue careers in football coaching and refereeing.

Celebrating Academic Excellence: SAPOF’s Child Sponsorship Project Shine

We are thrilled to announce that 90% of our beneficiaries under the Child Sponsorship project in Chitale, Ntcheu district have passed with flying colours in their 2024/2025 final academic examination.

This outstanding achievement is a testament to the hard work, dedication, and resilience of these talented young minds.

At SAPOF, we are committed to supporting the educational needs of vulnerable children, providing them with the resources and opportunities they need to succeed. Our Child Sponsorship project has been instrumental in empowering these children, and we are proud to see the positive impact it has had on their academic performance.

To celebrate this remarkable achievement, we gifted the children with learning materials, including exercise books and ball pens. We believe that every child deserves access to quality education, and we are committed to continuing our support for their academic journey.
